Butte, Montana will be the center of the political world on Saturday, April 5th as Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) will speak to nearly four thousand Democrats at the party's annual Mansfield-Metcalf Dinner.

The two Presidential Candidates will be in Montana campaigning prior to the state's Democratic Primary, June 3rd.Melville rancher and Montana Democratic Party Chairman, Dennis McDonald, said that Montana's been at the forefront of the Democratic resurgence in the West and having both Presidential candidates in Montana will be another testament to that.

March 20, 2008, is a date that most of us recognize as symbolic of changing seasons. As we welcome spring, people south of the equator are actually gearing up for the cooler temperatures of autumn.

What Happens at the Equinox?

Far from being an arbitrary indicator of the changing seasons, March 20 (March 21 in some years) is significant for astronomical reasons. On March 20, 2008, at precisely 1:48 A.M. EDT (March 20, 05:48) the Sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. For the Southern Hemisphere, this is the moment of the autumnal equinox.

Rituals and Traditions

Modern astronomy aside, people have recognized the vernal equinox for thousands of years. There is no shortage of rituals and traditions surrounding the coming of spring. Many early peoples celebrated for the basic reason that their food supplies would soon be restored.

juliana maureen redding - 21-year-old model found dead

Santa Monica Police found the 21-year-old aspiring model dead inside of her home on the 5100 block of Centinela between Idaho and Ohio Avenue. They are treating the case as a homicide.

Juliana Maureen Redding was found at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday after police received a call from the young woman's mother who had been unable to reach her daughter for days.

Police are not releasing details of how Redding died. They will not say if a weapon was involved or if the suspect forced their way into Redding's apartment.

One neighbor said that Redding had been living in her Santa Monica apartment for just a few months.

Another neighbor told Eyewitness News that she had plans to go out with Redding on Sunday night, but was unable to reach her.

Illinois cornflake

Sounds a little flaky, but someone has offered more than $50 on eBay for a piece of breakfast cereal that is touted as a lookalike to the state of Illinois.

Two sisters listed "The Great Illinois Corn Flake" on the online auction site, promising it has undergone no alterations.

Emily McIntire, a 15-year-old sophomore in high school from Chesapeake, Va., said she was grabbing fistfuls of cereal on her way to class when she found the flake.

"It was almost to my mouth, it didn't look like Illinois at first because it was held the wrong way," said McIntire, but then she noticed the resemblance and said, "Oh my goodness, it's Illinois."

Her 23-year-old sister, Melissa, said their parents suggested selling it for fun. They're offering free shipping to Illinois.

The Journey Through Cancer - Jeremy Geffen

Jeremy Geffen will take up the position of director of artistic planning at Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 1, replacing Ara Guzelimian, who is leaving to become dean of the Juilliard School. Geffen is presently vice president for artistic administration at the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, where he collaborates closely with music director David Robertson in all aspects of artistic planning.

Winter Soldier 2008

On the weekend of 13-15 March, 2008 Iraq Veterans Against the War will assemble history's largest gathering of US veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as Iraqi and Afghan survivors. In Washington DC they will testify to their first hand experiences and reveal the truth of occupation. They are currently seeking many types of support to make this happen, and are requesting that Iraq and Afghan veterans submit testimony and evidence.The four-day event will bring together veterans from across the country to testify about their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan - and present video and photographic evidence. In addition, there will be panels of scholars, veterans, journalists, and other specialists to give context to the testimony. These panels will cover everything from the history of the GI resistance movement to the fight for veterans' health benefits and support.

Aaron Johnsen, Brian Schwartz and Bradley Sladek each have been awarded $5,000 postgraduate grants by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) as winners in the 2007 Watson Fellowship Program.The Toro CompanyThe Watson Fellowship is funded by a partnership between The Toro Co. and The Environmental Institute for Golf. Microsoft Singularity

At the annual Microsoft TechFest event—which began today at the company's headquarters in Redmond—Microsoft's senior vice president of research, Rich Rashid, announced that the source code of the Singularity project will be available for download from Microsoft's Codeplex web site.

Singularity is a Microsoft Research project started in 2003 to build a highly-dependable operating system in which the kernel, device drivers, and applications are all written in managed code. The lowest-level x86 interrupt dispatch code is written in assembly language and C. Once this code has done its job, it calls the kernel, whose runtime and garbage collector are written in C# and run in unsafe mode. The hardware abstraction layer is written in C++ and runs in safe mode.
The Singularity project illuminates the broader implications of using managed code to develop operating system components. Although we probably won't see anything like Singularity running on desktop computers any time in the near future, the concepts have a lot of theoretical merit and will likely interest many in the academic community.

Henderson got more punches and elbows to the side of the head. Silva then goes for a choke while time was running out, putting Henderson in more trouble and gets Henderson to tap out in 4:52 of round two.
