John McWethy left us

John McWethy attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969. In 1970, John McWethy graduated from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

John McWethy began his career as a print journalist. John McWethy wrote for U.S. News & World Report for seven years, starting as a science editor in 1972, before becoming the magazine's White House correspondent in 1977.
John McWethy died of blunt force chest injuries after witnesses said he missed a turn on an intermediate trail this morning, and slid chest first into a tree
